Dr. Bruno Rasmussen
Bruno Rasmussen Chaves is a physician specialized in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. With over three decades of experience in the therapeutic use of ibogaine, he has supervised more than two thousand treatments and is actively involved in advancing the full regulatory approval of ibogaine-based therapies in Brazil.
He is a co-founder and former director of the Global Ibogaine Therapists Alliance (GITA) and co-author of the 2014 study “Treating Drug Dependence with the Aid of Ibogaine: A Retrospective Study,” an internationally recognized reference in the field. His work contributed to the regulation of hospital-based ibogaine treatment by the São Paulo State Council on Drug Policy (CONED).
He is currently involved in clinical research investigating the long-term effects of ibogaine in the treatment of crack cocaine and cocaine dependence, with a particular focus on cardiac safety.
